Bob White 9th Degree Black Belt American Kenpo Professor White May need to build a bigger school to fit all the trophies Mr. White is the Chairman of the American Kenpo Senior Council Martial History: Mr. Bob White began in training in Kenpo in the mid 60’s under Mr. Edmund K. Parker. He began teaching Kenpo at Mr. Parker’s school in Garden Grove, California in 1968. By September 11, 1971, he earned his 1st degree black belt from Mr. Parker. The following year (1972), Mr. White opened his first Kenpo school. As a competitor, Professor White won numerous state, national, and international fighting championships. He fought on the first International Kenpo Karate Association’s team, defeating the Chuck Norris team for 1st Place at the International Karate Championships. He also fought on the National All Star Black Belt Team which went undefeated in 1973 and 1974. Professor White advised and acted in Columbia Pictures’ "The Karate Kid" movie in the mid 80’s. He was also hired by the Los Angeles Rams to teach Kenpo to players. He continues to work with many professional athletes to this day. Three years before Mr. Parker’s passing, Mr. White was awarded a 7th degree black belt in "Ed Parker American Kenpo". The exact date being July 11, 1987. Mr. White Today: Mr. Bob White is very much active in Kenpo. He teaches at his school in Costa Mesa, California. His school is responsible for winning over 1200 trophies in the International Karate Championship. He also travels all over the U.S. and abroad doing seminars on American Kenpo. At the present time, Professor White, along with long time student (27 years) Captain Ron Sanchez, a 22-year veteran police officer, offer a seminar series on Urban Predators. Currently, he presides as Chairman to the American Kenpo Senior Council. An organization dedicated to preserving the standards of Ed Parker’s American Kenpo. Author’s note: A very respectable career.
