Martial History

Mr. Hebler began his training in Kenpo under Ed Parker around the late 50’s. He received his 1st black in 1962. He is one of the very few of the "Parker Originals" who stayed within the Parker system. He also has the distinction of being the first person promoted by Mr. Parker from 4th to 7th black. He received his 7th Black in 1974.

One of the things he is most well know for, is that he was the bodyguard and companion to the late great Elvis Presley. If you click on his certificate, you can see that it was Presley who signed as witness to his 7th Black certificate.

Mr. Hebler has co-authored the best selling book titled "Elvis, What Happened" and authored a book titled "Self Defense for Woman".

Mr. Hebler today:

Dave Hebler is the Founder and Executive Director of the OAKKA (Original American Kenpo Karate Association). The association is dedicated to promoting Ed Parker American Kenpo.
OAKKA site is at
