Martial History:

Mr. Dave Simmons began his training in Kenpo , at Al Tracy’s San Jose school, in 1966. It was in 1969, that he received is Shodan(1st black) from Mr. Tracy.
Mr. Simmons opened his first Kenpo school, in Long Island, in 1971. From 1971 to 1975, he was responsible for opening and running 4 schools, in the state of New York. Due to the economic climate change at the time, he was forced to close those schools.

In 1976, he moved to the Midwest. From 76 to the 90’s, he taught privately or by contract. In 1994, he was granted a Rokudan(6th black) by GM Al Tracy. By about 1999, Mr. Simmons opened his Twin Dragons Kenpo Karate school.

Mr. Simmons today:

Mr. Simmons still actively teaches and trains. He runs his Kenpo School in Minnesota and promotes Kenpo through seminars. He is a strong advocate for the Gathering of Eagles and supports the efforts of those who advocate traditional Kenpo Karate.

Author's Note:

I’ve had a great deal of contact with Mr. Simmons. He is always willing to help and promote Kenpo (not just Tracy Kenpo). It is appreciated.
