Hello everyone, I am curious to see what mindset people are in when they are in a possible combative situation. I have only been in one situation (long ago) and my mindset was calm but focused on injurying the other person without any intent to stop after he had grabbed me, other people did break it up though. Thanks for sharing!

I've had a lot of experience with conflct (worked as a bouncer and security). My mind set is usually "do what I need to do". That phrase may seem ambigous at first glance. More to the point is "do what I need to do to end the conflict, no more no less". This can be anything from "verbal judo", walking away, to getting down to a more physical solution. Your post seems to suggest you are thinking more in line of a physical conflict. Again, it is ""do what I need to do to end the conflict, no more, no less". This can mean control to kill or be killed. What ever is necessary to remove myself from danger (no more, no less).
