creeped out..
anyways, to the point, anybody know of any good in doorway sd's? i will also ask about this at class tomorrow..

I wish our lingo and systems matched better, but here goes.
As the attacker is facing you step forward with the Right Foot and Give him a good Right Fore Arm – Elbow to the Chin if you like him or the Temple if you don’t. Either way follow it up with a Hammer Fist to the Groin and then pivot in your stance and with the Left Hand use a Crab Claw to the Throat and make sure you can feel the Index finger touch the Thumb! At this point I would think all you would need to do is grab him by the Groin with the Right Hand and walk him to the curb.
1,2,3,4 and out the door!

Yes, slam door hard into face. Works best if you have a heavy wooden door.

regretfully its a screen door, won't do much if he was trying to get at me. That would be the simplest, but wouldn't work in my situation.

taoist spider, i will have to spend some time playing with that, many thanks!

anyway, i could barly sleep last night, the creep had me worried, ugh, darn creeps...

Hmm... Doorway eh? I guess the spinning hook-kick is out---

I always think:
Throat
Groin
Solar Plexus

Any (1) should be fine :)

If a combo is desired I say hit 'em in the throat and arch stomp to the knee or snap to the groin- I do like the forearm idea too.....

Cheers!

The following targets come to mind: eyes, nose, throat, solar plexus/xyphoid, groin, knees.  I would stike with something linear initially for the sake of speed and secondary to being in tight quarters (i.e. fingers to eyes, heel palm to nose, handblade to throat, sunfist to sternum, front kick to groin/knee caps).  Also be sure to not be standing square, another words stand more towards one side as to not present open targets.
Or just don't answer the door next time!

good doorway defenses? i think that would really depend on the positioning and proximity of your attacker.  If very close, I love using knees and elbows or some kind of lock or submission.  Also keep in mind your surrinding, like zoran said, the door could be a great weapon...so could its frame.  However, keep your technique succint and straight line if your own movement is restricted.

Um... Dont open the door?

Um... Dont be afraid to be mean or beligerent verbally?

Um... Call the police when ever someone is at your door that you do not know in the weeee hours of the night or morning?
Last resort ... if the bad guy is coming through the door use weapons that you have trained in or pick up WOO's (weapons of opportunity) and destroy vital targets.

If someone has the balls to go to your door they either have no respect for you and yours or they feel comfortable AND IN CONTROL of you. Both situations may not be to your benefit.

^^^^
No disrespect to the above poster but,
Not opening the door is fine, but more then likely they are going to do it for you.
Being mean and beligerant only makes the situation worse, its better to take value in temperance and act accordingly to the threat with as little provacation as possible.
3rd option would work.
4th thing, Placing your full faith in weapons other than your hands and feet is not a good thing to do in a life threating situation.
The 5th thing is true to a point, however most people that act big on the outside are extremly small inside. Basically saying they are big and tough until the first hit gets them. Then the fight is probably going to be yours.
Always exceptions though, alot of pyschos out there with guns, knives , bats , etc basically weapons you can't see until its to late. So act quick.....

Ah man there is never any disrespect on the forums.
Its for learning, venting, seeking the truth and giving it out.
Always say what you mean. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Weapons should always be your first option when dealing with a home intruder, heck with any bad guy in my opinion. There has never been a war fought empty handed. Weapons will ALWAYS beat empty hand, if they didnt you got unlucky or lucky.
Granted laws come into play and you must be aware of these things also your job may come into play.
No offense meant here but my Yawara, club or knife will do way more damage than any natural weapon you posses. Vital targets are vital targets. Weapons make hitting them and damaging them easier. Its why we have weapons. I say do not be fooled that you have any hope of dealing with an armed intruder. It may be your last resoort and more then likely it is.
Always cheat, always win.

I took the first post as though someone he knew was at the door and he opened it. Dont open the fricken door. Not for anyone. Deliveries can be left on the door step. Once someone as gained entry into you house and they are busting through you holding a door you are now on the defensive, which is bad, they are driving forward and pushing you back, also you maybe be on hardwood floor or carpet, they are on concrete with traction more then likely. DONT OPEN THE FRICKEN DOOR. If your door can be broken down easily, fix it! Mine cant. Infact I would wager outside of a raming device my doors cant be broken down.
When I went as far as saying be mean and beligerent. I mean you do not have to be polite or be embarrased about hurting someones feelings. If you do not feel comfortable. Say " Sorry sir/mam things dont seem right, Im going to call the police to get this checked out." or something to that effect. Do not be afraid to tell someone you feel uncomfortable and that you are watching them closely.
It works, it drives bad guys away. They do not want a fight.

The idea here is NOT to have a confrontation. Fighting is bad. Lawyers, hospitals, come backs.... all these things happen in real life.

knees elbows and linear attacks focused on the centerline. No time
for crap if being attacked let alone in such a small space.

MJ Lover,
Be very carefull, the fact that this guy has been there before tells me he may be casing your house (you know checking things out so they can rob the place or worse)
If you see this guy around again, call the police. He's up to something.
And if he still comes around, well just whip some ass and that will keep him away.

what about in a moving vehicle, (bus, train, boat) would there be anything else you'd have to take into account?

I have always been told, (but have been unable to find direct quotation) that SGM Parker advocated a gaseous state of motion, meaning we expand to fill the vessel. That is what I love about Kenpo, big or small space, we fill it and deny room to our opponent. I believe a Kenpo practitioner can fight anywhere, our stances are stable and our attacks focused. Find your opponents' likeliest advantage and take it away, if he has reach, move back and make him overextend or jam him. I like the Technique I know as the Sleeper, Flashing Mace is way cool and good for a tight area, especially if you're contouring the body correctly

I was just re reading my post and I assumed that you are the same size as the attacker. I would like to offer an alternative if the attacker is taller.

Step forward with the Right foot into a Side Horse and crush the arch of his foot, as the Right Hand comes up to block the punch – grab from the attacker. As you pivot in stance to a Kenpo. Right Hand grabs the attackers punch, as the Left Hand punches the Groin.Use the slight pause in his response (he just got hit in the groin) to step in with the Left foot to the attackers blind side as the Right hand pulls the attacker (this will keep him off balance and help you up) Use the Left Hand to control the attacker at the scruff of the neck and pull the arm up as you step on his Achilles.
Let his face rub the wall all the way to his knees.
