Kajukenbo, which stands for Ka(karate)ju(jujitsu/judo)ken(kenpo)bo(chinese boxing/kung fu), was created in 1949 in Hawaii by a small group called the Black Belt Society (Adriano Emperado, Peter Choo, Frank Ordonezwas, Joe Hlock, and Clarence Chang). Due to the evironment of the times, these five men that designed the system were all seasoned street fighters that felt a need for a more comprehensive system of self defense. A system founded by Edmund Parker and established officially in the early 1980's. Also called Ed Parker's American Kenpo, EPAK, or AK.
