Defense Against a Two Handed Push
The two handed push is a common attack one will experience. It is often used as a prelude to a fight. Some of the reasons this attack happens are; the attacker could be getting up his courage to fight, intimidation, hoping one falls or trips, and territorial issues.
There are three kinds of 2 handed pushes.
- First is the attempted push. This is before contact is made.
- Second is the light contact push. Basically a push that got through but is not meant to send you flying. Sometimes a product of your attacker wanting to get you in a 2 handed grab.
- Third is the strong push. This usually sends you flying. Hopefully you won’t be going over a chair.
Which ever it is, check out the rest of this post to see the different videos of responses from Kenpo and a few other systems.
